Dog Breeding

PUREBREEDS FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS:

Most people know the difference between a mutt and a purebred dog.  Purebred dogs are produced from parents were also purebred.  In order to make sure you are getting a true purebred, check to see that registration papers are available.  These papers are proof that both parents were purebred, which means your dog is a purebred puppy.

A purebred dog is one that has been specifically bred by humans to serve a particular function, whether for work or companionship.  Breeders choose a particular breed with desirable features, get a male and a female and breed them, with purebred puppies being the result.  Other dog lovers can then buy these purebred puppies, for a price.  Most purebred puppies or dogs are quite expensive.

Many purebred dogs have a specific purpose, which usually dates back in time quite a ways.  Saint Bernard’s were used for saving lost mountaineers, the Mastiff for defending the Roman Empire, the Chesapeake Bay retriever for retrieving ducks, and the Newfoundland for rescuing sailors.  There are also a number of dogs who are used for hunting and guarding.

If you are looking for a dog for a specific purpose such as a guard dog, you have many different breeds to choose from.  Some breeds are better at guarding than others of course.  If you have children, and love to go hunting you will probably want a dog that is good with children, but can also go hunting with you.

AN INVITATION TO CONTRIBUTE:

DOGSCAPADE is inviting you to write articles of real value for people on this particular dog topic. We want to know everything you know about dogs, including all about your dog-related organization. Who should be involved with the kind of dog or activity you represent? Who should not? What special requirements and considerations does this breed or specialty require? How and why did you get involved? We're looking for stories and first hand experiences rather than standard reports, although facts and figures are fine too. So, if you have something worthwhile to offer, we'd love to hear from you!

In exchange, we will host an EXCLUSIVE featured section on our website for your dog kennel, club or organization! We accept well-organized (we will help with editing), genuinely useful, informative articles related to dogs for inclusion. While we do review all contributions, we don't guarantee acceptance. For more information and to contribute articles, please contact us at contribute@dogscapade.com.

DOG WEBSITES & SEO:

We are also offering an amazing opportunity to have a very affordable, high-quality website for your dog kennel, club or organization — designed, hosted and optimized for search engines.
